SEMI PERMANENT LIP BLUSH
Aquarelle Lips Altrincham Manchester
Aquarelle Lips
Aquarelle lips is a semi-permanent technique used to create a soft air-brushed lip blush colour of your choice. This technique creates an effect similar to a lip tint and can even out symmetry and give the appearance of fuller lips. At the consultation prior to the treatment Olla can advise and guide you on suitable colours that work with your skin tone.

Before the treatment
Preparation
- Exfoliate your lips 2 days before the treatment; moisturise with lip balm or honey. Make sure your lips are soft with no flakiness.
- Do not take Aspirin or Ibuprofen for at least 24h before and after treatment.
- Do not drink alcohol the night before your treatment as well as no caffeine or sports drinks on the day of your appointment.
- Since delicate or sensitive areas may swell or redden, please consider this before making any social plans for the same or following day.
- If you have a history of cold sores, please contact your doctor to obtain medication to prevent outbreaks. Permanent makeup treatments do not cause cold sore outbreaks, however, if the client carries the virus, it lays dormant in the body and can be activated by treatment.
- Lip wax or bleaching treatments should not be undertaken for at least two weeks prior to treatment.
- Lip fillers should be done at least 4-6 weeks before and after the procedure.
- Please note that lip colour is much more intense for the first few days following the treatment. Lips heal quickly and dry pigmented skin peels off by itself after a few days. Over the next 3-5 weeks, the colour will stabilise. We recommend a further pigmentation treatment a minimum of 30-45 days, but not later than 2-3 months following the initial procedure.

Aftercare
- No makeup to be worn on or around the treated area for 7 days.
- No creams or other cosmetic or skincare products to be used on or around the treated area for 7 days.
- No moisture should come into contact with the treated area for 7 days.
- No sweating or exposure to heat for 30 days (unless purchasing Xtreme Protection aftercare cream).
- No saltwater or chlorine contact unless using Vaseline as a barrier cream (but not before 7 days).
- No sun beds, direct sunlight sun or other UV exposure for 30 days (unless purchasing Xtreme Protection aftercare cream).
- No saunas, steam rooms, facials, chemical peels, laser therapies, microdermabrasion, light therapies or any other intensive facial treatments.
- Wear factor 50 sun protection in strong sunlight/UV to preserve pigmentation.
- Avoid active ingredients in cosmetics and creams such as acids like retinol. Vitamin A, light therapies on treated areas will encourage cell regeneration which could negatively affect your pigmentation.
- It is recommended to have ‘top-ups’ on your treated area every 12-18 months.
- If you are planning to have anti-ageing injectables, fillers or cosmetic surgery, these may alter the appearance and positioning of your lips and eyebrows.
